Golden Shovels, Blue Skies, and a New Legacy on Seattle’s Waterfront

Under brilliant autumn sunshine, the unmistakable rumble of exotic and collectible automobiles, the flash of photographs, and the clinking of champagne glasses announced a new chapter in Seattle's waterfront real estate.

On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Terminal One Motor + Yacht Club celebrated its official groundbreaking and public sales debut with an extraordinary gathering of more than 150 guests, including developers, architects, civic leaders, automotive collectors, Founding Members, prospective purchasers, media representatives and distinguished members of the Pacific Northwest's automotive community.

Scores of exotic, vintage and collectible automobiles rallied to the nine-acre development site on Seattle's historic Salmon Bay. From classic Mercedes-Benz and Porsche automobiles to contemporary exotic vehicles, the display offered a compelling preview of the passions and personalities behind Terminal One's emerging community of collectors.

The celebration continued with a packed Founding Members Afterglow Reception at neighboring Dobson Stuttgart.

For developer Cantera Group and exclusive sales and marketing representative Realogics Sotheby's International Realty (RSIR), the occasion marked the culmination of years of investment, environmental remediation, design, permitting and planning.

From Brownfield to Golden Shovels

Dean Jones, President and CEO of Realogics Sotheby's International Realty, spoke to the symbolism of the occasion. "Under blue skies, we find ourselves standing on a former brownfield, surrounded by green shoots of opportunity, celebrating with golden shovels in the heart of the Emerald City!"

Once an industrial waterfront property, the Salmon Bay site is being reimagined as a private destination for automotive collectors, yachting enthusiasts and individuals seeking an entirely new expression of luxury real estate ownership.

As Jones reminded the audience, "Greater than garages. More than a marina. A collective of collectors."

The Visionaries Behind Terminal One

Jones introduced Mike and Doug Ciserella, principals of Cantera Group, whose vision and commitment have guided Terminal One through property acquisition, environmental remediation, architectural planning, entitlements, and construction commencement.

The initial development includes Buildings A, B, and C, with approximately 72 garage condominiums, subject to unit combinations, and the FORUM, a planned common-area amenity and events venue.

Building A's initial release comprises 18 garage condominiums, with nearly half committed through reservations at the time of the groundbreaking.

A future waterfront phase is planned to include additional commercial condominiums and approximately 2,300 linear feet of proposed yacht moorage, subject to regulatory approvals.

A World-Class Team Takes the Stage

The formal program brought together the people and organizations shaping Terminal One's future.

Edward Lalonde and Daniel Ralls of Olson Kundig represented the architectural collaboration behind the development.

Representatives of POE Construction addressed the commencement of construction, site preparation, and the phased development program.

With construction underway, the initial phase is targeting occupancy in summer 2027.

NiCole Wilson of Avants represented the Pacific Northwest's passionate automotive community, highlighting the relationships and shared experiences that make the region's collector culture so distinctive.

Michael Kosmin of Columbia Hospitality discussed the importance of professional condominium management and the opportunity to cultivate a distinctive ownership experience through hospitality.

Jonathan Sposato of Seattle Magazine brought a collector's perspective to the occasion, celebrating the personal stories, emotional connections, and enduring legacies associated with exceptional automobiles. Sposato was gifted an original painting by Jay Mason Art of his classic Mercedes-Benz 190SL, offering gratitude for his efforts in the “Living Legacy” short film and ongoing support of the PNW car culture.

Ann Goos and Dave Goodell of the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce represented the surrounding business community, acknowledging the investment and new activity envisioned for this distinctive corner of Seattle.

Cheryl Delostrinos, representing the Mayor's Office of the City of Seattle, participated in the program and recognized the redevelopment milestone and its connection to the city's culture of innovation.

Representing Realogics Sotheby's International Realty, Neda Perrina and Jay Kipp, the project's lead sales advisors, introduced the next chapter of ownership opportunities.

With introductory pricing beginning in the mid-$600,000s, the public sales debut marked the transition from private Priority Presales toward broader market availability.

Twelve Leaders. Six Golden Shovels. One New Legacy.

The ceremony culminated in a signature groundbreaking celebration.

Twelve representatives of the development, architecture, construction, hospitality, and sales teams assembled in branded black hard hats for the official photographs as six golden shovels provided the ceremonial centerpiece.

The celebration continued with a coordinated shovel throw and champagne service, followed by a ceremonial toast led by Mike Ciserella.

The Afterglow: Where Automotive Culture Met Culinary Art

As the groundbreaking concluded, the celebration continued at Dobson Stuttgart, a neighboring Porsche-focused automotive destination specializing in servicing, retail, and collector-car culture.

Hosted in collaboration with Dobson Stuttgart Principal Matt Adair, the Founding Members Afterglow Reception transformed the specialty automotive facility into a vibrant social setting.

John Howie Catering presented a curated culinary experience inspired by the project's relationship between land and sea, while Wildwood Spirits complemented the occasion with craft cocktails and tastings.

The artistic program included work associated with Jay Mason Art and sculptural presentations by Arian Amini of HYPNOTIQ XPERIENCE, bringing another dimension of craftsmanship and individual expression to the evening.

Even the automotive detailing process became part of the experience, with a live luxury-car detail.

It was, in many ways, a preview of what Terminal One hopes to become: a destination where the automobiles may bring people together, but the relationships and experiences encourage them to stay.

A Groundbreaking That Made Headlines and Social Media

Among the publications and platforms featuring Terminal One were:

  • The Seattle Times, introducing the unusual ownership concept to a broad regional audience through its coverage of waterfront garage condominiums near the Ballard Locks.
  • Seattle Magazine, exploring the convergence of supercars, superyachts, architecture and collector culture.
  • BUILD Magazine, highlighting the development's construction progress, architectural collaboration, and ownership opportunities.
  • Seattle Agent Magazine, covering the groundbreaking, reservations, introductory pricing, and public sales launch.
  • Connect CRE, reporting on Cantera Group's investment and the transformation of the former industrial property.
  • My Ballard, providing neighborhood coverage of the development milestone and proposed future waterfront uses.
  • Social media communities, extending awareness and generating conversations about the project's distinctive concept.

The result was more than a one-day event. It became a growing digital celebration of Terminal One's emerging community, with content continuing to circulate across automotive, lifestyle and real estate audiences.

This combination of independent editorial attention, professional media production and organic social sharing is introducing Terminal One to a substantially broader audience than the more than 150 guests who attended in person.

The ground is moving. The community is forming. And a new legacy is underway.
